Holy Week and Easter with Emanuel

No matter who you are or where you live, you're invited to join Emanuel in observing Holy Week and Easter, the holiest time of the church year. In order to keep our congregation safe, we are not currently gathering for worship in person. All of our services are available via livestream and archived video on our Facebook page.

Palm Sunday, March 28: 10:30 am livestream
Palm Sunday begins with joy and ends in reflection. We will celebrate Jesus' triumphant entry into Jerusalem and listen to the story of his betrayal, arrest, and death.

Maundy Thursday, April 1: 6:30 pm Zoom dinner, 7:30 pm livestream
Bring your dinner and join other Emanuelites on Zoom at 6:30 pm. We'll share a meal in virtual community while reflecting on the story of the last night of Jesus' life. At 7:30 pm, we will livestream a brief service of music and reflections.

Good Friday Pandemic Hope, April 2: 7:30 pm livestream
How does the story of Jesus' crucifixion and death illuminate the difficulty and suffering of the past pandemic year? Join us for a livestreamed service using the art of liturgical artist Mary Button and memories from Emanuel members. On the most somber day of the year, we will find pandemic hope together with scripture, art, music, darkness, and light.

Easter Sunday Festival Worship, April 4: 10:30 am livestream
Alleluia, Jesus is risen! With beloved hymns and sacred scripture, we will tell the Easter story together. Note: If COVID-19 percent positivity rates and weather conditions allow, we will gather for worship in person in Buccleuch Park in addition to the livestream; if not, we will worship via livestream only.

Welcome our new pastor, Mr. Scott Rush who  grew up in Brooklyn, NY. His family moved to Long Island while he was in high school, and his three brothers and their families still live there. Click on the photo to read his bio.
